Prof. Dr. R. Manikandan

Prof. Dr. R. Manikandan, a Urologist, is the Director of the Department of Urology at MIOT International Hospital.He holds an impressive array of qualifications, including MBBS, MS, DNB, MNAMS, and MCh (Urology).Dr. Manikandan has a substantial 23 years of experience in the field.His educational journey includes MBBS from KMU Institute of Medical Sciences in 1992, MS – General Surgery from Madras Medical College, Chennai in 1996, and MCh – Urology/Genito-Urinary Surgery from Madras Medical College, Chennai in 1999.With a total of 28 years in the medical field, including 18 years as a general surgeon and over 10 years as an expert urologist, Dr. Manikandan has treated more than 5000 patients with various urological conditions.He is recognized as one of the few urologists skilled in robotic surgery, with the distinction of being the first to introduce robotic surgery in Pondicherry. Dr. Manikandan has contributed significantly to the field of urology through peer-reviewed journal publications and active participation in national conferences. His work has been featured in numerous national and international journals.
