Dr. Atul Mathur is the Executive Director of Interventional Cardiology and Chief of the Cath Lab at Fortis Escort Heart Institute, New Delhi.He is also the president of the Indian Council for Carotid Therapeutics India.Dr. Mathur is a pioneer in complex coronary procedures and specializes in Endovascular (Carotid stenting, Aortic Graft Stenting, Peripheral arterial and venous Angioplasty) and Structural heart (TAVR, Mitra Clip, LAAO, BMV, Adult VSD closure) interventions. Dr. Atul Mathur received his training and work experience at The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, United States.With over 32 years of experience, Dr. Mathur has achieved numerous awards and recognitions, including being the first Indian Doctor to get a US patent on a medical device and performing the first Carotid Stenting Procedure in India (1999).His educational background includes an MBBS degree from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, in 1984, an MD in General Medicine from the University of Rajasthan in 1987, and a DM in Cardiology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in 1991.Dr. Mathur is a member of various medical organizations, including the Indian Council for Carotid Interventions, Cardiovascular Therapeutics India, and the Global Advisory Board for the Resolute Endeavour Program.
